a guide to zines

recently i've been fascinated by ZINES - what are they? books, really. except they're usually more indie, homemade, and tend to have less oversight. that also makes them pretty experimental. i've been making my own homemade pocket notebooks for a while and recently stumbled into the eight pager zine. with a piece of paper and scissors you can make a zine to: draw, write or print your very own zines.

why i think the 8 pager zines are cool

i've actually been cultivating my research notes into pocket notebooks and zines, since they are practically the same format! one of the reasons i've fallen into the deep end with zines is because: their cheap and easily reproducible nature means if you ever lose or destory it? you can easily remake it! making it an effective long-term data solution.

unlike my pocket notebooks, which i also love - zines are REALLY REALLY easy to make. if you have to print these out for whatever reason, they take 2 minutes tops to make and require little logistics to put together, unlike pocket notebooks which require either thread, or staplers, and a bit of organization prior to printing.
